*The perpetrators of these crimes have a history of growing up in a dysfunctional and an abusive home. They cannot be excused for their horrific actions, but their childhood experiences were a contributing factor. That is why it is just as important to reach out to not only those abused, but also to the abusers to try to stop the circle of abuse at it's source before it gets out of control.
A Review of Domestic Violence Deaths - By Niel Websdale (Professor of criminal justice at Northern Arizona University - Flagstaff)"Every year in the United States, 1,000 to 1,600 women die at the hands of their male partners, often after a long, escalating pattern of battering. The estimated number of deaths due to intimate partner violence does not include those women who kill themselves to exit violent relationships, or who die homeless on the streets avoiding batterers."

killings are a form of domestic violence. For a period of time before

"It is estimated that there are 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America today" (Forward, 1993) About 1/10,000 children are slain in missing child reports (1990 US Justice Dept).

by his girlfriend who then commited suicide

Domestic Violence Memorial Links and stories - -----Jasmine Fiore - Died August/09 age 28 ex model - Killed by ex husband in California USA. Body mutilated
and found in an industrial garbage container. Only way to identify her was by serial
numbers from her breast implants. Ex Husband Ryan Jenkins 32 yrs old found
dead by suicide in western Canada. Jenkins had a history of being abusive.
